Refund Policy

Guidelines on payment reversals, failed gateway transactions, and AutoPay cancellations.

Effective Date: 1st January 2024

This Refund & Return Policy ("Policy") applies to all monetary transactions including donations, membership fees, and program participation fees transacted through the website and digital channels of Murashil Foundation. This Policy is framed in compliance with the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA), and the Income Tax Act, 1961. Please read this Policy carefully before making any payment.

1. General Refund Principle for Donations
Donations are generally non-refundable once received and acknowledged by the Trust.

Under Indian law governing public charitable trusts, once a donation is received and applied toward a charitable objective, it is considered irrevocable. This principle is consistent with:

Indian Trusts Act, 1882

Charitable purpose donations are binding and cannot be reversed by the donor once applied.

Income Tax Act, 1961

80G certificates once issued cannot be cancelled or reversed. The donation stands as claimed.

FCRA, 2010

Foreign contributions are regulated and cannot be returned to foreign sources without prior MHA approval.

2. Cases Eligible for Refund

Notwithstanding the general non-refund principle, the Trust will process refunds in the following exceptional circumstances:

If you have made the same payment more than once due to a technical error, the duplicate amount will be refunded in full. Report the duplicate transaction within 7 calendar days.

If a payment was debited but the Trust did not receive successful confirmation, the amount will be refunded based on bank reconciliation. Report within 7 calendar days.

If you were charged an amount different from what was displayed due to a system error, the difference will be refunded. Report within 7 calendar days.

If a membership application is rejected by the Trust, the full fee will be refunded within 30 working days via NEFT.
